My name is Emma van Heerden. I am from Gqeberha (Port Elizabeth), South Africa. I am currently studying Foundation Phase Teaching (young children). In my free time, I love to read, listen to music, cook, travel, and socialize with my friends.
I’ve always loved children and enjoy spending time with them. That inspired me to teach them and help them in all possible ways. I am emotionally intelligent and self-confident and would say that I have empathy for others, especially children. I do believe that this will add to success in my teaching career. I believe that teaching is not only about teaching them new information and testing their knowledge but about connecting with your students and using personal experiences to better their learning and understanding. I decided to teach English as I would love to interact with learners and young adults from all over the world. I excelled in English during my school and studying years. I am extremely excited to be able to interact with everyone while enriching their lives and understanding of the English language.
